Sorry, but are your comics actually based on GW? Except for a few words like "rez sig" and "charr" you could apply them to any generic MMORPG. Especially seeing as how the first few comics deal with a game that has bad lag, you can buy armor from other players in, and you incorrectly refer to certain terms in the game.

If it weren't for the little green guy's costume looking relative similar to a Mesmer with an illusion mask I would say you make these same comics for other games and just change the words around

I don't know. I think if you are going to make a comic about GW you should make it a little more than a quick spoof. I mean, the only relation between the game and your comics is word terminology. If you did make it more similar, people who play the game would be able to relate and it would seem funnier to them.

If you are just looking to spoof MMORPGs, do that; don't try to pass it off as themed.

By the way... Why do you call it the "gwg comic"?

Oh. Wait! I see why. You say it on your website. You "wrote off to a website called 'guildwarsguru.com' it’s a site about a computer game. I got some reply’s and sooner or later… IM DOING A BI-WEEKLY COMIC FOR THE SITE!!! Its 100% exposure man!" Right? So you have no idea about the game at all, you just make up some stuff, scan the forum for some words and, miraculously, your comics are always on the front page.

I could have a field day with this one ^_^ Kekeke

Chutney! I always enjoy the problems of trying to identify bodyparts from food. And episode 9 only later this week, ah you spoil us.

oh man you have noooooooooo idea! lol yes i play guild wars, the thing is with my website there are peoprle from around the world who are not to knolagable about guildwars in the slightest, and i want them to enjoy it to, witch is why i gave that "brief" explaination on there. that is all due to how i am percived on the site, as a happy go lucky late teen patching his way through life. i was a gwg fan who always looked at the site for help, it wasnt just some site to me, but to other peple who havent heard of it, it may well be

to answer the first point, yes it is based in guildwars. and yes its true that many things happen that wouldnt in gw, making the comic seem like a general mmog game. the story behind this comes out in later issues, im not just ignoring it, when the comic started tony and sam are real people who are sent into the game, they know no spells and dont have to follow the rules of normal players as they are real people and not being controlld by a mouse, hense in issue 5 were they are asked to res the dead guy, but tell him they cant (they do not have a mouse to click res) this is also illustrated in issue 8 were sam learns his first spell, he dosent know what it is, but he can do it. more of the storyline will unfoild in later issues and im sure all of your questions will be answered. all i can say now is that like when neo went into smith and messed up, when tony and sam went into gw it messed up.

oh and the armor issue, once again tony and sam are REAL if someone hands them some money they can give them back whatever they want, but other people in the game CANT do this, only tony and sam can break the rules and this makes for a very intersting story later on i hope

basically im trying to make my cmic different, there are many comcis on here, and out there about guild wars, and beside the plot, everythign is exactly the same. i ddint want this, i tried to make it different and more intersting to the reader

why do i call it gwgc? well cause its the OFICAL comic on gwg, its gwg's comic. i understaind its not the best title, and in later issues and so on, its poked fun at, dont you worry

i just hope you could see that its supposd to be fun, and intersting, not just the same as the rest

~jake

p.s gonzo, thanks man! its nice you enjoy it i just hope die-hard fans dont get boged down by tecniqality, its always nice to hear from you

I don't know what someone is doing to this thread, but I want to restate some things.

I think you have some potential, but you need to work harder and use more original ideas and artwork. You need to try to improve yourself in whatever you do.

I think it is rediculous that you can claim that the comic is based in any way on guild wars except with slight references. Themeing the comic on Guild Wars Guru is a very bad idea (thus claiming to do so is aswell).

You should put more infasis on your appearent core audiance, namely, those who play Guild Wars casually.

You need to put a style in your artwork that differentiates you from Futurama and the Simpsons.

To be honest the similarity in style to the Simpsons, etc. has never bothered me. There are enough subtle differences in style to make it unique in my eyes. My only repeated criticism would be that of excessive incorrect spelling.

In the latest one, misspelling of "You're", "Just", "Whom", "Which", "Aggravating", "Busy", "Heroes", "Resurrect", "Whether" and "Original" are this episode’s offenders. It isn't hard to solve, especially since some are just typos.

Hey, I've just finished a three year English course at Uni. I can't help but judge spelling.
